  • Dr Ilija Stojanovic is an Assistant Professor of Project Management, Operations Management, and Quantitative Methods at the American University in the Emirates. He is a practice-oriented academic with 4 years of international teaching experience; more than 12 years of experience in delivering training in project and business management; and more than 12 years of relevant industry experience in managing different internationally funded projects.

    Dr Stojanovic’s research interests are related to project management, operations management, supply chains, and sustainable development with the application of different quantitative methods. He is an author and co-author of more than eight Q1 papers in the last five years and is a member of the editorial board or reviewer for several high-ranking journals, including Q1 journals.
    Dr Stojanovic holds a PhD with a specialization in Management from the University of Banja Luka and has completed a post-doctoral program with the European Scientific Institute in cooperation with the University of Almeria, Spain. He is a holder of multiple globally recognized certificates such as the PMP (Project Management Professional), ECQA EU Project Manager, UNDP Trainer for Sustainable Development Goals, and Six Sigma.
    For his reviewing efforts, Dr Stojanovic received outstanding reviewer recognition by Tourism Management Perspectives and Elsevier in February 2018. In 2001, he was recognized with 4th place at Al Ghurair University by the World Scientist and University Ranking.
