Dr. Amin Hussain Al Amiri

Asst. Undersecretary for Medical Practice and License Sector in UAE Ministry of Health, and the Chairman of the UAE Supreme National Blood Transfusion Committee.

Dr. Al Amiri obtained his PhD and MSc. in Medical Science from the Faculty of Medicine at Aberdeen University in 2003. At the UAE Ministry of Health, he is responsible for the departments of Continuous Medical Education; Drug Control & Registration; Medical Advertising; Medical Licensing; and the department of Total Quality & Hospital Accreditation, as well as overseeing the Sharjah Blood Transfusion & Research Centre.

Dr. Al Amiri is a member of the High Commission of Consumer Protection in the Ministry of Economics, and has been a member of the Advisory Board with the Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology since March 2009, and was nominated for the position of Chairman for the Advisory Panel on Membership at the Majid Al Futtaim Charity Foundation in 2011.

Dr. Al Amiri has many publications in the field of blood transfusion in local and international journals and has been awarded the Sheikh Rashid Award for Culture and Science from the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf Executive Office and the Arab League.

His voluntary activities include responsibilities such as co-chairing the Emirates Voluntary Association, which he did diligently up until 2003. In addition to this, Dr. Al Amiri has fulfilled the post of Secretary General of the Sharjah Voluntary Award since 2001.
