Professor Asma Salman serves as Vice President for Research and Professor of Finance at the American University in the Emirates (AUE). She is a senior higher education executive with more than 15 years of international academic, administrative, research, and leadership experience across the UAE, UK, China, and Pakistan.

Since joining AUE in 2011, Professor Salman has held several academic and leadership positions, including Dean of the College of Business Administration, Chair of the Department of Accounting and Finance, and Chair of key University committees. Her leadership experience encompasses strategic planning, institutional effectiveness, quality assurance, accreditation, research governance, graduate education, performance assessment, policy development, and continuous improvement.

Professor Salman has extensive experience with national and international accreditation frameworks, including NBEAC, CAA, SACSCOC, and AACSB, and currently serves as an AACSB Mentor, supporting business schools internationally through their accreditation journeys. Her experience at AUE has included significant involvement in institutional and programmatic accreditation, strategic planning, assessment, quality enhancement, and institutional effectiveness.

An active scholar and research leader, Professor Salman has authored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications indexed in Scopus and Web of Science and has received competitive research grants. Her research interests include finance, FinTech, artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital transformation, sustainable finance, and ESG. She holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, and completed a Ph.D. research exchange at Brunel Business School, Brunel University London.
