  • Dr. Hussein Khalifa is an Experienced Assistant Professor of New Media and Communication driven to empower learners to gain the knowledge, skill, and competence necessary for academic and personal excellence. In 2018, he got my Ph.D. from Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University with First Class Honor. In addition, he achieved the status of Fellow in recognition of attainment against the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and learning support in higher education on July 2020 from the Higher Education Academy in UK. Moreover, he was an inbound researcher for the International Inbound Research Mobility (IIRM) program at Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) in Indonesia in June 2024. Furthermore, he was nominated and accepted by Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) for a scholarship program in Germany, Belgium and Netherlands in November 2015. With more than 13 years of teaching experience in higher education, he has worked at four different universities: Cairo University, Sultan Qaboos University, Gulf University, and Midocean University. Always, he has a passion for creating an active learning environment in which learners become professional, effective communicators, problem solvers, lifelong learners, sustainability-driven, creative, and reflective thinkers.
  • During his academic career, he was leader of the Advertising and Digital Marketing Program in collaboration with the University of Northampton in UK, chair of Content Creation and Social Media Management program, chair of Scientific Research Committee, member of the University Scientific Research Council at Gulf University, chair of the Media Committee at Gulf University for Bahrain's National Day, manager of Social Media Accounts at Cairo University, and general supervisor of training programs at Cairo University. Added to that, he was Assistant Editor-in-Chief at International Journal of Media and Mass Communication (IJMMC) at Gulf University and Editorial/ Executive Secretary at The Scientific Journal of Radio and TV Research at Cairo University. From February 2021 till now, he is a member of the International Advisory Board- iRASD Journal of Management (JOM), International Association for Sustainable Development (iRASD) in Pakistan. Also, he is a member of Arab Academics and Scientists Union in Jordan, Bahrain Journalist Association, CIPR in the UK, and Digital Marketing Institute in Ireland.
  • He aims for an exceptional track record of research success with multiple published articles. He has more than 23 published articles and two book chapters. According to ResearchGate, my research publications have been cited 163 times till July 2024. Through my research work, he often focusses on, Mass Communications, Corporate Communication, New Media, Social Media Analytics, Digital Marketing Strategies, and SMEs studies. Besides, he have proposed and implemented many academic initiatives: monthly scientific seminar, student research day at Financial and Administrative Sciences College, launching Communication and Media Technologies College, launching the master’s program at Media and Public Relations Department, obtaining Mass Communication Program (BQA- Bahrain), (CIPR- UK), (ASJMC- USA) Accreditations and membership, and preparing Self-Report (SER) for the mass Communication program by writing the second standard related to the program's efficiency.
  • He have received many awards and honors: Star of the Month award, Outstanding Research Paper award, Best Instructor in Online Education, Sharjah University Award, Cairo University Award, Scientific Excellence Award, Certificate of Appreciation from UNESCO, Certificate of Appreciation from Cairo University, Certificate of Appreciation for Supervising Student Graduation Projects, Appreciation from Gulf University for my efforts through the academic year 2019-2020, Appreciation Letter for organizing Student Scientific Research Day at Gulf University, Appreciation for active Participation as a Keynote speaker in “Social Media and Diffusion of Rumors during COVID_19 Pandemic” Symposium, Certificate of Appreciation for organizing the 1st RTV scientific Media research forum at Cairo University, Certificate of appreciation for organizing the Holy Quran Radio celebration, and Certificate of appreciation for organizing the 29th International Scientific Conference at Faculty of Mass Communicatio at Cairo University.
  • Last but not least, he is a hard worker, enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to working ethics and taking the initiative to serve the community and environment by employing the practical skills of the media profession. In addition, he is trustworthy, complete my tasks on time, collaborate constructively with colleagues, and he is committed to good behavior and conduct.

Dr. Khaled Al-Kassimi

prof-image Dr. Khaled Al-Kassimi is an Assistant Professor of Political Sociology, International Relations, and Legal Jurisprudent Philosophy at the American University in the Emirates. Preceding his appointment at AUE he was a sessional lecturer (2019-2021), a Teacher’s Assistant (2015-2019), and a Research Assistant (2018-2019) in the Department of Political Science at McMaster University. His teaching expertise includes subjects including International Law and International Relations, Critical Security Studies and (Post)-Development Studies, and finally, Philosophical Theology.

Dr Khaled Al-Kassimi holds a Philosophical Doctorate in Political Science from the faculty of Social Sciences at McMaster University (2016-2020), a Masters’ degree in International Relations from McMaster University (2015-2016), and an Honours Bachelor of Arts combining a double specialist in History and Political Science from the University of Toronto (2009-2013).

Dr Khaled Al-Kassimi’s academic research navigates approaches accenting critical security studies and decolonial studies with a particular interest in Arab-Islamic and Latin-European epistemological differences pertaining to their different jurisprudent and philosophical sources (i.e., revealed Law and rationalized law). Such eclectic disciplinary navigation has permitted Khaled Al-Kassimi to publish peer-reviewed articles in a variety of journals interested in law and philosophy, history and political science with an eye appreciating the civilizational heritage accentuating the cultural reconnaissance between the Orient and Occident. His research has been cited by prolific scholars such as Andrea Hoffmann, Roberto D. Sirvent, Greg Simmons, Melvin Delgado, Gorden Moyo, Walter Mignolo, José Briceño-Ruiz, Adam Grydehøj, and Gonzalo Lizarralde. Finally, Khaled Al-Kassimi also sits on the editorial and reviewers board of: Athens Institute for Education & Research – Journal of Humanities & Arts (2019-Present); MDPI – International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (2020-Present), Social Sciences (2020-Present), and Laws Journal (2020-Present), and lastly, the African Journal of Political Science and International Relations (2019-Present).
