Conference and MOU Signing with Tashkent State University

One of the main Strategic Goals of the American University in the Emirates is founded on the idea of internationalization with local and international stakeholders thus cementing its reputation through research collaborations, exchange student programs, and more importantly, inter-cultural exchange between different academic institutions. Internationalization does not simply consist meeting members from different universities, but also embraces and provides an avenue to discuss and publish research, networking with academics and industry experts, and welcoming an institution into your university by highlighting to them how “you do things here”. The American University in the Emirates had the honour of organizing and hosting 3 conferences from the 21st-23rd of December 2023 consisting of over 150 presentations of peer-reviewed research. In addition, honourable guests from Tashkent State University joined us at AUE and this included three Vice Rectors: Professor Sadirdin Khudoykulov, Professor Gulnora Abdurakhmanova, and finally, Professor Maqsudjon from Uzbekistan. Furthermore, five keynote speakers from academia and the industry including Professor Ahmed Elsherbini, Cairo University, Egypt; Professor Sergey Andreev, Tampere University, Finland; Professor Abbes Amira, University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates; Professor Ashiq Anjum, University of Leicester, UK; and lastly, Mr. Hideki Ninomiya, CEO of Orient and Director of Cyber Investigation Knowledge Forum. Last but not least, the AUE along with Tashkent State University signed 2 MoU’s seeking to stimulate the ethos of internationalization among their academics, students, and industry experts.
In the last decade, the growth of the Internet and other web technologies have driven fast developments of various networking technologies that are becoming essential parts of our daily lives. The wealth of existing algorithms and architectures for parallel and distributed computing, combined with the proliferation of future wireless technologies and electronic devices resulted in a fast-growing adoption of future networks and highly decentralized systems. Future networks and distributed systems research are an interdisciplinary field involving academics in computer science, communication engineering, physics and social behavioural studies, information technology, multimedia services convergence, service ubiquity and context awareness, amongst others. It is precisely this inter-disciplinary ethos that primed the AUE in collaboration with our strategic partners and sponsors to host the 3 inter-disciplinary conferences below resulting in an MoU signing with Tashkent State University.

The 4th International Conference on Distributed Sensing and Intelligent Systems (ICDSIS), chaired by Dr. Mohamed Elhoseny provides a forum for researchers and engineers in both academia and industry to exchange the latest innovations and research advancements in Innovative Computing, Intelligent Systems, Communication, and Engineering. ICDSIS2023 also provides the attendees with the chance to identify emerging research topics, as well as future development directions in all fields of Computers and Information Sciences. The primary goal of the conference is to promote research and developmental activities in Advanced Computing, Communication, and Information Technology. Another goal is to promote an interchange of scientific information between researchers, developers, engineers, students, and practitioners working in and around the world.

The 23rd International Conference on Next Generation Wired/Wireless Networks and Systems, chaired by Prof. Yevgeni KOUCHERYAVY provides a forum for the identification, investigation and integration of new algorithms, approaches, architectures, methods and mechanisms to enable proper and efficient operation of a next-generation wired/wireless networks and systems. Next-generation mobile networks will evolve out of existing wired and wireless networks of different nature by means of convergence, fusion and mutual penetration; next-generation multimedia services in turn pose new requirements and  challenges on treatment of traffic within communication systems – a certain degree of multilayer co-operation has to be achieved.

The 2023 International Conference on Future Networks and Distributed Systems (ICFNDS 2023) chaired by Prof. Mohammed Hammouda aims to address advances in research on distributed systems and future networks, covering topics ranging from enabling technologies to emerging applications and industrial experiences. ICFNDS aims to encourage both researchers and practitioners to exchange and share their experiences and recent studies in an interactive atmosphere.

The American University in the Emirates was pleased and honoured to host, organize, and partner with 3 reputable conference chairs that share a common goal in promoting an interchange of scientific information between researchers, developers, students, practitioners seeking to produce knowledge that is beneficial for current and future generations. We would like to once again thank our distinguished guests, Professor Sadirdin Khudoykulov Professor Gulnora Abdurakhmanova and Professor Maqsudjon Yuldashev from Tashkent University and the chairs of the conference Dr. Mohamed Elhoseny, Professor Mohammed Hammouda, and Professor Yevgeni Koucheryavy for honouring us at their second home, the American University in the Emirates.
