Laura Londoño is a multidisciplinary designer and educator with expertise in game design, user experience (UX/UI), and 2D/3D production pipelines. Her areas of expertise span environment and character modeling, visual design, gamification, and immersive media, including augmented and mixed reality. She has worked professionally as a 3D artist at Warner Bros. Discovery, where she contributed to international productions and gained in-depth knowledge of industry-standard pipelines for television. Additionally, she has experience as a visual and UX designer, contributing to the development of interactive applications and research-based projects that integrate art, design, and technology.
Her research interests focus on user experiences, representation in interactive media, and the intersection of artificial intelligence and empathy in serious games. She is currently expanding her research on the emotional and cognitive effects of AI in serious games, as well as on innovative methods to enhance engagement and inclusivity through interactive design.
Laura has also developed academic and teaching experience, serving as a teaching assistant at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and ICESI University, where she supported courses in 3D pipelines, game art, design basics, and photography. She contributed further as an assistant professor in the Semillero 418 Investigation Group at ICESI, guiding students in research methods and collaborative projects at the intersection of design and technology. She is passionate about inspiring students to explore research-based design approaches and fostering creative problem-solving in areas such as game design, UX, and interactive media.
She holds a master’s degree in interactive design and game development from SCAD, specializing in 3D and game art. Her work has been recognized in professional and academic contexts, including her selection as one of eight Colombian 3D modelers featured in a design magazine. She continues to pursue projects that bridge technology, creativity, and human-centered design.
