Dr. Sarah Sanad is an academic leader and healthcare educator with extensive experience in healthcare higher education. Her expertise spans academic and program leadership, health professions and nursing education, curriculum development, assessment, accreditation and quality assurance, simulation-based education, interprofessional education, and technology-enhanced learning. Her research interests include healthcare workforce outcomes, quality of work life and job satisfaction, professional well-being and development, quality of patient care, health professions education and student learning, curriculum and assessment, evidence-based practice, professional competency, and healthcare quality. Her scholarly work has addressed healthcare workforce and quality-of-life outcomes, professional development, mental health and well-being, and health professions education and practice.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Sanad has held progressive academic and administrative leadership roles. She is a Certified Reviewer with the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) and has served on External Review Teams for program and institutional accreditation and review. She has contributed to national initiatives, including the UAE National Interprofessional Collaboration Framework for Accreditation Taskforce, and is a founding member of the Emirates Health Services (EHS) Nursing and Midwifery Research Council (NMRC). She has also been invited to professional speaking engagements, conferences, panels, and workshops for healthcare educators and practitioners.
Dr. Sanad holds a PhD in Healthcare Management from Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, UAE, and a Master of Science in Nursing in Clinical Nursing–Critical Care and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Jordan. She was awarded the Princess Muna Nursing Award for Nursing Excellence by the Jordanian Nursing Council and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), UK, a Certified Digital Learning Expert through Blackboard Academy, and a Registered Nurse and Clinical Nurse Specialist. She is committed to advancing educational excellence and innovation in healthcare higher education across the UAE and the region, fostering academic quality, interprofessional collaboration, and the preparation of competent healthcare professionals.
