AUE Hosts ‘AI Teaching the Teachers’ Workshop at Al Mawakeb School, Al Khawaneej

The American University in the Emirates (AUE) successfully hosted the ‘AI Teaching the Teachers’ workshop on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Al Mawakeb School, Al Khawaneej.
The workshop is part of AUE’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the educational landscape by equipping educators with the skills and knowledge to effectively integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into their classrooms.
Led by AI expert Mohammad Arshad, the session offered hands-on training that allowed teachers to gain practical experience using AI tools within educational environments. The workshop concluded with an engaging Kahoot quiz, enabling participants to assess their newfound knowledge in a fun and interactive way.
Representing AUE at the event, Dr. Soulafa Al Khatib, Director of Academic Support, emphasized the significance of the initiative: “Equipping our educators with AI expertise and practical skills is essential in fostering an environment where students are prepared for the future. AUE remains committed to supporting our teachers as they lead the way in integrating AI into education and shaping the next generation of innovators.”
Ms. Samira Al Awadhi, Principal of Al Mawakeb School Al Khawaneej, praised the importance of artificial intelligence in today’s rapidly evolving world. She noted that AI is transforming various sectors, including education. She also highlighted the role of the American University in disseminating knowledge in this field. The university is at the forefront of research and development in artificial intelligence, offering advanced courses, conducting pioneering research, and providing an environment that fosters innovation and critical thinking about AI.
This initiative aligns with the vision of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum and focuses on key learning objectives, including: – Understanding the basics of AI. – Utilizing AI tools in educational settings. – Implementing ethical AI practices. – Applying AI in classroom environments. – Preparing students for AI-driven careers.
