AUE’s 10th Annual Car Show Goes Full Throttle

For the tenth incredible year, AUE was delighted to bring another action-packed Car Show to Dubai International Academic City on February 22 and 23.

The AUE car show is a massively popular event in the academic calendar, attracting upwards of 15,000 visitors from across the UAE over the two days. This year’s event started with an opening ceremony attended by VIP guests Mr. Mirza Al Sayegh, Prof. Muthanna G. Abdul Razzaq, Mr. Khalaf Al Qubaisi, Mr. Abdullatif Abdulla Ahmed Al Mulla, Khalid Nasser Alshamsi, Jamal Aljarwan, and Khalid Bin Sulayem.

This year’s event featured a truly spectacular array of vintage cars, sports cars and bikes. In addition, petrol heads got to enjoy an amazing drifting show performed by professional drivers from the Emirates Motorsport Organisation. There was also a taxi show (in which willing participants could experience the thrilling feeling of drifting), a parking challenge, a trolley race, and a drifting competition.

Elsewhere, there was the traditional Best Car Contest, which this year featured five categories (Luxury, Sports, Classic, Sedan, and 4×4). As if this wasn’t enough, there was also a Scan & Win Challenge put on by our partners Uptown Rent A Car, who joined us with a fine suite of luxury cars that one lucky person got to choose from to drive for free for one day at the end of the event.

To satisfy people’s stomachs, the show was supported by Dunkin’ Donuts and Doh in the food section, and bringing the vibe was DJ Baseem, whose incredible music had everyone feeling good.

This event would not have been possible without the generous support of AUE’s two big partners CAFU and Hardee’s, as well as our hosts, the Dubai International Academic City which provided the space. The event also profited from the support of two other amazing partners, V-KOOL and EXO (Exclusive Auto Care).

The 2023 show came to an end with an honouring ceremony led by the university Provost Prof. William Cornwell, who thanked the sponsors and participants, as well as everyone who came to spectate and admire the vehicles on display. We are already excited for next year’s event!
