7th Annual AUE Student Research Competition Showcases Global Talent and Innovation

Dubai, UAE – April 27-29, 2025 – The American University in the Emirates (AUE) proudly hosted the 7th Annual AUE Student Research Competition (AUESRC), bringing together bright minds from across the globe to present groundbreaking research and creative projects. Held from April 27 to 29, 2025, this year’s competition emphasized the importance of research, innovation, and knowledge-sharing in shaping a rapidly evolving world. His Highness Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Mualla honored the University with his presence in the Opening Ceremony, while the famous Egyptian actor Dr. Ahmed Farid who is also University professor, visual artist and TV presenter was the keynote speaker.
A Platform for Future Leaders
The AUESRC is designed to foster lifelong learning, enhance employability skills, and cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets among undergraduate and graduate students. Participants had the opportunity to present scholarly research, creative works, theses, capstone projects, and more, contributing to a diverse and dynamic academic exchange. This year’s competition saw an unprecedented surge in participation, with submissions from 41 universities and academic institutions across 13 countries. External reviewers from 13 universities in 4 countries ensured a rigorous and fair evaluation process. Notably, AUE’s own submissionsskyrocketed from 10 last year to over 100 this year, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for research among students.

Participants engaged in lively discussions, networked with peers and faculty, and gained valuable feedback from international experts. The students won three prizes; 10,000 AED for the first place, 6,000 for the second and 4,000 for the third. Mohammed Musa From the American university in the Emirates won the first prize with his paper “EFT of EFT vs Funds of Funds” Nosayba Othman Al Damook from Alain University won the second prize with her paper “Comprehensive evaluation of thymoquinone’s potential as anti-breast and lung cancer therapy” and Shatyaphiya Nandagopal from Gulf Medical University won the third prize with the paper “Unveiling The Risks of Preeclampsia– A Case-Control Perspective”
