Mrs. Razan Takash

Mrs. Razan Takash is an Assistant Professor at the College of Media and Mass Communication at the American University in the Emirates. Mrs. Takash is an award-winning writer/director from Jordan, with an experience of over 10 in the film and television industry years in the UAE and Middle East.

Mrs. Takash holds a Masters in Fine Arts in directing and cinematography from the Red Sea Institute for Cinematic Arts (RSICA) from an MFA program sponsored by The University of South California (USC).

Her skills include writing, directing and producing for television and film in a wide variety of projects, from intimate films and art house projects produced independently, local and regional series for television networks, to Hollywood blockbusters and franchises.

She's been involved on the ground on International and Hollywood productions like Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Zero Dark Thirty.  She wrote and directed the winning film “Shah Mat” which received the 1st place award at the 48hour Film Project Dubai 2016 where she also received awards for “Best Director” and “Best Special Effects/Post Production”. Her television credits include producing and directing two seasons of two children's TV shows for Majid Kids TV “Risha” and “Robotic”, working on the Maggie Diaries for MBC and a season of the prime time docuseries “Ma Lam Tara” on MBC.
