Mrs. Grace Sawaya is a lecturer of English for Academic Purposes and English for Specific Purposes, namely in Critical Rhetorical Analysis, Advanced Writing, Undergraduate Research Writing, and Public Speaking. Also, she has ample experience in faculty as well as student mentoring. She is equally a qualified editor.
While a practitioner and a dedicated mentor at heart, her research interests revolve around student-centered teaching inclusive of Inquiry-based Learning (IBL), Problem-based Learning (PBL) in Active Learning Spaces (AL).
She holds a Master of Arts in Education from the American University of Beirut, with a teaching experience of 32 years in North American systems in Higher Education that she gained in the Middle East, the United States of America and the Gulf. Likewise, her affiliations are of national and international reputation, namely TESOL, ATEL, TESOL Arabia, and NCTE.
For her institutional loyalty, dedication to students, unwavering support to faculty, service to department and university, and continued enthusiasm in her career path, Mrs. Sawaya has received a number of awards and grants.
