Dr. Rania Itani earned her Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) degree from Nottingham Trent University (NTU) in UK entitled “Risk Mitigation Practices of the Lebanese Banking Sector: A Proactive Approach to Maintain Resilience through Prudential Regulation ".
Dr. Itani holds 9 years of Financial experience in the banking and financial sector from both Lebanon and UAE. She was acting as Head of the Correspondent Banking Department - Financial Institution in the Lebanese banking sector (BBAC SAL and LGB SAL) and as Finance Manager of FIG Retail Trading Company in Dubai, UAE.
As a practitioner, she earned different certifications in the field from International institutions, Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of New York Mellon and Capital Intelligence focusing on the financial business aspects, such as Risk Management, Basel III, Trade Finance Business and Treasury Services. Furthermore, she is active trainer for subjects related to the banking sector, delivered intensive workshops on Banking Operations, Treasury, Capital Market, Risk Management, Trade Finance, Financial Institutions, Corporate Banking, Payments, Reconciliations and Compliance to new business graduate students from different Lebanese Universities and to colleagues at newly founded Banks in Iraq.
As an Academic, she is been teaching for almost three years at AUE for respectively three specializations, Finance, Economics and Accounting for the courses of Investment & Financial Strategies/ Money & Banking/ Islamic Banking & Finance/ Corporate Finance & Investment/ Financial Management/ Management of Financial Institution/ Microeconomics/Macroeconomics/ Principles of Accounting/ International Financial Management/ Economics of Hospital and Healthcare Sector.
Her research interest is Macroeconomic Prudential Regulations, Investment and Financial Strategies, Prudential Banking Regulations, Money and Banking – Conventional & Islamic Banking and Risk Management in Financial Institutions.
