Dr. Asli Milla is an Assistant Professor at the College of Business Administration at the American University in the Emirates. She comes from a diverse and rich academic background, completing her undergraduate degree in Business Administration in 2010 at Dokuz Eylul University of Izmir, Turkey. During her undergraduate studies, she spent a semester in Finland on the Erasmus Scholarship. After completing her bachelors, she moved to Latvia to purse her masters, where she was awarded with a scholarship by the Latvian government for her studies.
In 2013, she received her MSc in Entrepreneurship Management with a concentration on Social Media from Riga Technical University. After graduating, she decided to continue pursuing her dreams as a P.h.D student. She was accepted to the international doctoral program at Universidad Jaume I in Spain on a scholarship. For her thesis, she worked on a European Union funded project on Electronic Identification for EU Member Countries. This thesis was awarded with `Cum Laude` (Hons.) award.
Dr. Milla has always been a volunteer for international NGOs such as AIESEC, TedX and Amnesty International. Between her studies, she has been an active volunteer where she gave public speeches for youth empowerment, leadership and diversity. She has been a volunteer instructor for University of the People of California where she has been teaching Business and Marketing courses to both undergraduates and graduates for over 2 years. Her recent research interests are digital marketing, online trust and technology acceptance models.
