Mr. Jamal Al Jarwan joined the UAE International Investors Council in November 2014 till date, as Secretary General.
Mr. Al Jarwan appointed:
– Member of the Board of Trustees of the American University in the Emirates (AUE)
– Member of the Advisory Board of the College of Economics and Administration at the Qasimia
University.
Mr. Al Jarwan started his career in Etisalat on 8/08/1988.
Core competency:
He has acquired an international corporate relationship in five continents with strong economic and M&A skills where he had negotiated, supervised and managed transactions worth more than $45BN.
In 1996 he was seconded by Etisalat to Thuraya Telecommunications Company.
In Thuraya, he served as the company’s Chief Commercial Officer, where he designed and executed the overall global business strategy and managed the company’s commercial operations worldwide.
In 2006, he was called back by Etisalat to establish and lead the International Investments and operations as Chief Executive Officer for International Investments.
In 2011, he became the Chief Regional Officer leading Etisalat Operation in Asia Region.
Mr. Jamal Al Jarwan represented Etisalat as an executive board member in several of Etisalat’s international subsidiaries:

1. Thuraya Satellite Telecommunications Company,
2. Etisalat Misr,
3. Ivory Coast,
4. PTCL – Pakistan,
5. Etisalat Lanka,
6. Ufone – Pakistan,
7. Etisalat Afghanistan
8. Chairman of Etisalat Benin.

Mr. Jamal Al Jarwan Major Achievements are:

Launching Thuraya Mobile Satellite system commercially in more than 100 countries, and
Securing the famous Egypt third GSM License agonist more than 10 International telecom Operators biding for the same license.
And an Acquisition of an existing third operator in Sri Lanka.
Mr. Jamal Al Jarwan has 34 years experience in Telecom, M&A and International Investments/ Trade and Business development and FDI.
During his service in UAEIIC in the last seven years, Mr. Al Jarwan has succeeded to assist in building an internationally recognized Investment council promoting UAE investments internationally, today receiving worldwide recognition.
He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Dayton-Ohio (USA) and a degree in Executive Management from IMD business school, Switzerland and degree in Leadership Strategy from Tuck School of Business–Dartmouth University, New Hampshire, (USA).
Organization Profile: UAE International Investors Council – UAEIIC is a semi government Council, whereby it has public and private Sector members in the Council.
The Board of Directors of the Council is Chaired by H.E the Minister Of Economy and subscriptions come from major Flag Ship Organizations which are home based from the UAE.
Investment Goals: To act as a link between UAE International Investors and government to enhance competitiveness of UAE International Investments and to overcome all types of obstacles and to protect UAE International Investments through effective coordination amongst the international investors in addition to communication with the governmental agencies and overseas parties to remove potential obstacles, explore sate investment opportunities abroad and provide advice to the Council.
