Dr. Mohammed T. Bani Salameh is Professor of Political Science at American University in the Emirates. He holds PHD with specialization in Comparative Politics from Clark Atlanta University, USA. His research focuses on Identity, Political Reform, Human Rights, Political Islam, Social Network Analysis, Elections, Immigration, Terrorism and Contemporary Middle East. In addition to Four books, he has also published his work in numerous peer-reviewed journals. His publications appear in Digest of Middle East Studies, Journal of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies (in Asia), Nationalities Papers: The Journal of Nationalism and Ethnicity , Journal of Research in Political Sociology, International Journal of Human Rights and Constitutional Studies, World Affairs Journal, Middle East Quarterly, Journal of Politics and Law, and Asian Journal of Comparative Politics. In more than 17 years of progressive experience in the research and teaching field, his professional history includes administrative positions such as Chairman of Political Science Department, as well as Deputy Director of Queen Rania Center for Jordanian Studies and Community Service at Yarmouk University. Currently, his interest is to explore challenges to Political Reform and Militarization in Middle East. His future work will primarily focus on the same issues and topics pertinent to Middle East Politics to address emerging political questions and goals. Bani Salameh is Member of the Board of Trustee of the Hashemite University, and Member of the Global V-Dem team 2016-2020. He was a Fulbright Scholar to Clark Atlanta University, Atlanta, G.A,1995-97.
