Rami joined the American University in the Emirates in the 2019-2020 academic year as an Associate Professor at the College of Business Administration. His research areas include Sport Management, Event Management Tourism and Leisure with a specific focus on sport mega-events and their legacies. Rami was awarded his PhD from Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom and his research focused on Stakeholders’ Perspectives of Leveraging Tourism and Business Legacy Outcomes from Mega Sport Events. He also received his MSc in Sport Management from the same institution. Rami leads a number of research projects in sport mega-events within an active research plan. He publishes in international academic journals, conducts peer-review activities and presents his research at international conferences such as The North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM), European Association of Sport Management (EASM), Tourism and Travel Research Association (TTRA) and other international events.
Rami has extensive experience in teaching and learning in Higher Education. He was awarded a teaching qualification from Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom (PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education). Before joining AUE, Rami demonstrated leadership and teaching experience in the UK as a Senior Lecturer in Event Management at University of Winchester, Senior Lecturer in Sport Business Management at Sheffield Hallam University and a Leader for Stadium and Events Management at UCFB Wembley Stadium. His teaching expertise include the courses of Event Management, Sport Management, Tourism and the business facets of the sports and events industries, research supervision, curriculum design, modules and assessments design, and coordination with industry partners and stakeholders.
