Dr. Darina Saxunova is an Associate Professor at the College of Business Administration focusing on Financial and Managerial Accounting, Financial Analysis and Financial management. She is a practice oriented academic with industry experience in areas of accounting and auditing in Europe and in the USA, as well as she has international pedagogical experience in teaching accounting subject and collaborating in the research projects at universities in USA, France and Spain.
She earned her PhD degree in Corporate management with specialization in Financial Accounting from Comenius University of Bratislava, Slovakia, and MSc from the Faculty of Natural science in Mathematics and Chemistry from University of PJS in Kosice, Slovakia and MA from Philosophical faculty, in English language and literature in University of PJS in Kosice. Later she carried on studying her postgraduate studies in Georgetown University, Washington D.C, USA with major in Financial mathematics, Accounting and Finance and IFRS accounting standards in Montreal, Mc Gill, Canada.
Research interests of Dr. Darina Saxunova comprise the topics of Earnings management, Earnings of higher or lower quality and Financial Reporting, Frauds in Accounting, Working Capital management, Accounting and Fintech services in digital age, Accounting and Control, Impact Bonds Financing and emerging market economies. She is an author of several books and publishes in international academic journals, conducts peer-review activities.
