Dr. Mohammed Taher AL -Awjar is an Assistant Professor at the American University of the Emirates. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Law from the University of Mosul in 2015 with a grade of very good for his thesis (Civil Responsibility for Sports Governance).

He is a member of the Iraqi Baths Syndicate and the Iraqi Jurists Union.
Before joining the American University in the Emirates. Dr. Mohammed worked as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law from 2005 to 2018. He worked as a legal advisor to the President of Mosul University from 2005 to 2007. He also was an attorney from 1994 to 2005. In addition to that, Dr. Mohammed was the Chairman of Al-Fasal newspaper in 2003 (legal - cultural & social newspaper), a Legal Advisor to the Iraqi Central Taekwondo Federation, and a Member of the Central Referees Committee of the Iraqi Central Taekwondo Federation and has 2nd Dan black belt in Taekwondo.

Dr. Mohammed has published two books: (Civil Liability for Sports Injuries) and (Civil Liability for Sports Governance) in 2015. He participated in many international law conferences in general and particularly in sports law. He also has many published research in civil law and sports law and has interests and future studies related to sports law.
