Dr. Jeffrey Joel Darville holds his Ph.D. in Organizational Learning and Leadership from Gannon University with a focus on Strategic Decision-Making. He obtained his M.S. in Organizational Leadership from Geneva College and B.S. in Marketing Management from Grove City College.
Dr. Darville has taught Business Management, Marketing and Leadership courses at Allegheny, Butler County and La Roche Colleges. Prior to his academic career Jeffrey Darville worked in industry for Verizon Wireless in consumer sales, marketing and business development. He was an early employee in a start-up venture providing an online K-12 math tutoring SaaS (Software as a Service) program. Later, he served as an Admissions Director for The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and joined Geneva College as Director of Development in Institutional Advancement. He has also consulted with Bayer, Sony, Westinghouse, and PPG as well as many small and medium sized businesses (SME).
His research in group decision-making considers how individuals participate in this process, and how strategy is formed based on the interaction of decision-making styles and conflict types. His interests include higher education administration, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), behavioral economics in marketing, online and content marketing analysis, network analysis, and leadership development. He is an author on selected conference papers, articles, and has presented at NISOD. He has appeared in media and podcasts discussing the intersection of organizational leadership and business management.
