Professor Majeed Hussain earned his PhD (1988) in Econometrics from University of Keele, United Kingdom. He has a master’s degree in Economics from Keele University, United Kingdom and bachelor’s in Statistics and Economic Planning from Mosul University in Iraq.
Professor Majeed lectures in Principles of Economics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Statistical Analysis, and Quantitative Methods for Business and Managerial Economics. He also lectures in Feasibility Studies to undergraduate and executive students.
Despite his commitment to teaching, he has always been active in research and other scholarly activities. His research interests and publications revolve around the areas of Quantitative Methods and Statistical Analysis, while also focusing econometrics, working in researching, teaching and having experience using software statistical packages such as SPSS, MINITAB, EVIEWS for econometrics and MegaStat.Professor Majeed’s research articles have appeared in peer-reviewed international journals.
Through his professorial role, Professor Majeed became skilled in progressively and effectively communicating concepts and ideas to student and peer audiences. Additionally, he assisted students in the selection and registration of courses and provided academic guidance. Through his involvement in numerous committees, he is responsible for the revision and adjustment of the curriculums, conducting staff evaluations and is a Deputy Dean and Head of Economics Departments in different universities in the Arab world. He is active in Ajman University and holds many other ventures, reaching out to students as well as other faculty members as an active member of the academic community.
