Dr. Olga Pykhtina received her PhD in Education and Communications, Newcastle University, with specialisation in counselling children. Her Master’s Degree was done in Applied Linguistics and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and she also holds a Diploma of Specialist in Pedagogical Methodology and Communication as well as a Bachelor’s in Pedagogy and English (Honours).
Dr. Olga is a CELTA qualified trainer who has got much experience in teaching English to speakers of other languages in the North-East of England. She worked with many international MA and PhD students in the UK and Canada, delivering seminars and providing academic supervision and personal guidance.
She earned her Play Therapy certification through Canadian Association of Child & Play Therapy, which was followed by work with primary school children who suffered emotional, sexual and physical abuse, including neglect, domestic violence and behavioural problems.
Dr. Olga is an Associate Fellow of the British Higher Education Academy and holds an O.A. Diploma in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and O.A. Diploma in Autism Awareness. Her research interests include the use of digital technology and multi touch tabletops in the areas of English Language Teaching and Counselling.
