Dr. Michal Matyasik

Assistant Professor, College of Security and Global Studies

Dr. Michał has obtained Ph.D. degree in Political Science in 2006 at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland.

For ten years as an Assistant Professor taught several subject related to international relations and international security such as Negotiation of International Agreements, International Humanitarian Law, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding or Introduction to Comprehensive Approach in International Armed Conflicts.

In 2012-2013 he was deployed in Afghanistan (NATO ISAF) as CIMIC functional specialist responsible for provision of humanitarian assistance, negotiation, civil environment evaluation as well as for planning process of non-kinetic activities.

He has also participated in several military oriented courses e.g. NATO Comprehensive Operations Planning Directive (Poland); Stabilization and Reconstruction Management Senior Course (Italy); NATO ISAF PRT-CIMIC course (Hungary); NATO CIMIC Basic Course (Netherlands).

In recent years he has specialized in topics such as negotiation, civil-military relations, counter-insurgency operations, resistance and asymmetric warfare and has been providing advice and trainings for NATO military personnel including CIMIC, HUMINT and Special Forces units.
