Dr. Janet Madhu acquired her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics and Business Communication from Banasthali Vidyapith University, India, a Master’s Degree (MA. M. Phil.) in English from Holy Cross and St. Joseph’s Colleges, affiliated to Bharathidasan University, South India. South Asian Diaspora, especially to that of the 3rd generation is one of her research interests.
She's a versatile writer who is interested in creating and contributing articles and poems on metaphysics to literary websites. Her publications include scholarly articles in the field of English, Education, and Curriculum Development. She has over 18 years of tertiary teaching experience, out of which 11 years have been spent in the UAE in various Higher Education Institutions such as American University in RAK, Ittihad University, and College of Nursing (Federal Ministry of Health), and at present American University in the UAE.
Moreover, she has worked as an English Language Instructor at YAFLI (Yemen Armed Forces Language Institute), affiliated to the Embassy of USA, training the defense personnel who were deputed to the US Air Base. As far as community services is concerned, she has participated in beach cleaning programs in two Emirates, organized by EEG ( Emirates Environment Group), breast cancer awareness campaigns, conducted by MOH in Dubai, and teaching General English for MOH officials by formulating and coordinating a functional English Program for corporates.
