American University in the Emirates is proud to offer our students the following scholarships/grants/aid options in support of their education.

UNDERGraduate

Undergraduate (Bachelor’s) Scholarships

  • Applicants must be new students enrolling directly from high school
  • Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria announced (annually each summer) with the application and required documents
  • Cannot be combined with any other scholarships/grants/aid
  • Recipients should review their signed Terms and Conditions Sheet for additional requirements

High School Merit Scholarship For undergraduate students with a final high school average of 85 or higher 10%, 15% or 20%
  • Must have a final high school average of:
    • 85 – 89 for 10%
    • 90 – 94 for 15%
    • 95 or higher for 20%
  • Must have graduated high school within two years of enrolling at AUE
  • Available in fall and spring semesters
  • Must maintain a 3.0 CGPA or higher
  • Granted for the first four consecutive semesters of study
No application. Automatically applied to the accounts of qualifying students at the time of registration in the fall and spring semesters. Fall: September 25 Spring: January 25
University Merit Scholarship For undergraduate students with a CGPA of 3.6 or higher upon completion of 45 credit hours 10% or 15%
  • Available in fall and spring semesters
  • Must have completed 45 credit hours
  • Must have/maintain a:
    • 3.6 – 3.89 CGPA for 10%
    • 3.9 CGPA or higher for 15%
No application. Automatically applied to the accounts of qualifying students at the time of registration in the fall and spring semesters. Fall: September 25 Spring: January 25
Government Employee Grant For undergraduate students currently employed at a government organization 15%
  • Available in fall and spring semesters
  • Must have/maintain a 2.5 CGPA or higher
  • Please contact DSA to confirm eligible government organizations
Students must apply each fall and spring semester via Student Portal by uploading a picture of their valid work ID or an employment letter dated within the past three months. Fall: September 25 Spring: January 25
Family Grant For families that have two or more immediate family members (siblings, husband and wife, parent and child) enrolled in courses simultaneously 10% per family member
  • Available in fall and spring semesters
  • Must have/maintain a 2.5 CGPA or higher
  • Must be registered in courses simultaneously
  • Must be registered in a bachelor’s program
  • The Family Grant is nontransferable between family members
Students must apply each fall and spring semester at the DSA Office. The students must be registered and have their AUE student ID numbers. If the students’ middle and family names do not match then documentation (passport, marriage license, etc.) to confirm the familial relationship is required.

Athletic Scholarship For undergraduate student athletes on a formally registered AUE team 20% for substitute players or 50% for main players
  • Available in fall and spring semesters
  • Must maintain a 2.6 CGPA or higher
  • Must be nominated by the team’s coach within the team’s allocated number of scholarships
  • Must sign a contract committing to the above terms and conditions, the Student Code of Conduct & Discipline, and to represent AUE at any events/functions as requested by DSA. Any violation of the terms of the contract disqualifies the student from future consideration for the Athletic Scholarship.
The team’s coach must submit his/her nominations for the team’s allocated number of scholarships (as per the VPAFA) to the DSA Office each semester. Nominated students must visit the DSA Office to sign the Athletic Scholarship Contract. Fall: September 25 Spring: January 25
Referral Grant For continuing undergraduate students that recruit a new student 10% per new/recruited student for the continuing/recruiter student
  • Available in fall and spring semesters (unless the continuing/recruiter student is expected to graduate in summer)
  • Valid for one semester and only in the new/recruited student’s first semester
  • The new/recruited student must register for a minimum of 9 credit hours in their first semester
  • The continuing/recruiter student must have a 2.5 CGPA or higher
Students must apply at the DSA Office. Both the continuing student/recruiter and the new/recruited student must be present, have their AUE student ID numbers, and be registered in the required number of credit hours. Fall: September 25 Spring: January 25
Early Payment Discount For undergraduate students who pay in full by the early payment deadline 5%
  • Available in fall and spring semesters
  • Students must pay in full by cash, credit or debit card, or current dated check by the early payment deadline
The Financial Affairs Department submits the request to DSA via Portal Fall: 27 July 2018 Spring: TBA
Esaad Card Grant For undergraduate students who have a valid Esaad card in their name or who are an eligible family member as listed on the back of a valid Esaad card 20% or 40%
  • Available in fall and spring semesters
  • Must have/maintain a 2.6 CGPA or higher
  • Must have joined AUE:
    - In the Summer 2018 semester or before for 20%
    - In the Fall 2018 semester or later for 40%
  • Cannot be combined with any other scholarships/grants/aid
  • Repeated courses will not be included in the discount
Students must apply each fall and spring semester via Portal by uploading a picture of a valid Esaad card. If the student is an eligible family member of an Esaad card holder they must upload a picture of the front and back of a valid Essad card. If their middle and family names do not confirm the relationship then they must also upload proof of the familial relationship (marriage certificate, family book, passport, or other).

Fall: September 25 Spring: January 25
Dubai Police Grant For undergraduate students who are current or retired Dubai Police employees; or for undergraduate students whose father, mother, husband or wife is a current or retired Dubai Police employee 40%
  • Available in fall and spring semesters
  • Must have/maintain a 2.6 CGPA or higher
  • Must have joined AUE in the Spring 2016 semester or later
  • If the student is the child or spouse of a Dubai Police employee, the student must have a high school average of 70% or higher
  • Cannot be combined with any other scholarships/grants/aid
  • Courses repeated due to failure will not be included in the discount
Students must apply each fall and spring semester via Portal by uploading a picture of a valid Dubai Police ID or an employment/retirement letter dated within the past three months. If the student is an eligible family member of a Dubai Police employee but their middle and family names do not confirm the relationship then they must also upload proof of the familial relationship (marriage certificate, family book, passport, or other).

General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (Dubai) Grant For undergraduate students who are current or retired General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (Dubai) employees; or for undergraduate students whose father, mother, husband or wife is a current or retired General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (Dubai) employee 30%
  • Available in fall and spring semesters
  • Must have/maintain a 2.6 CGPA or higher
  • Must have joined AUE in the Spring 2018 semester or later
  • If the student is the child or spouse of a General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (Dubai) employee, the student must have a high school average of 70% or higher
  • Cannot be combined with any other scholarships/grants/aid
  • Repeated courses will not be included in the discount

Government Employee Grant For graduate students currently employed by a government organization 25%
  • Available in fall and spring semesters
  • Must have/maintain a 3.0 CGPA or higher

  • Available in fall and spring semesters
  • Must have/maintain a 3.2 CGPA or higher
  • Must have joined AUE in the Spring 2018 semester or later
  • If the student is the child or spouse of a General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs employee, the student must have a bachelor’s CGPA of 2.6 or higher
  • Cannot be combined with any other scholarships/grants/aid
  • Repeated courses will not be included in the discount
Students must apply each fall and spring semester via Portal by uploading a picture of a valid General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (Dubai) ID or an employment/retirement letter dated within the past three months. Other Terms & Conditions – Graduate Students

Graduate students can receive one scholarship/grant per semester. If a graduate student qualifies for more than one, the student will be awarded the scholarship/grant of the higher percentage.
