American University in the Emirates to represent the UAE At the Asian University Football Championship

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 8th August:  After a history of games won by the American University in the Emirates’ football team in the past, forwarded by their alignment with the UAE’s enduring passion and competitive sports spirit, the university is all set to represent the United Arab Emirates in the Asian University Football Championship. Organized by the Asian University Sports Federation, the event is all set to take place in China from 29th October to 11th November 2018.

Extremely glad about the nomination for the university to represent the UAE, Professor Muthanna Ghani Abdul Razzaq, President of AUE, expressed his delight, crediting the university’s football team and their previous achievements. “From winning the state championship twice to bringing back the title of “Champions of Dubai” for the seventh time in a row, the university is surely the right choice for this nomination. Considering the university football team’s and their trainer’s efforts and hard work previously, the trust and support to the university’s football team will be a key motivator in their future win!” Dr. Muthanna is dedicated and ensures that the best support, encouragement and facilities will be provided to his students to excel.

Coach Yusuf Abbas of the AUE football team continues to trust his students and their abilities, beaming with pride at the country, United Arab Emirates and all that it has provided. He also mentioned his views about the new development. "The nomination of our team to represent the United Arab Emirates is a moment of pride and happiness for all of us. It is a proof that our efforts are recognized and appreciated. It is a big responsibility, but I am sure we are ready to train, work hard and yet again, bring home the win. This is going to be an essential win as this tournament will result in qualifying the top three team to compete in the World Cup, it’s huge! But we are ready!”.

Thailand, China, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Oman, South Korea, Nepal, Vietnam are amongst the other teams playing in the Championship.
