The American University in the Emirates (AUE) organized the Winter International Practicum Program for the third time for Villanova University, from Dec.28th, 2014 to January 9th, 2015. A group of 30 working MBA students from various backgrounds headed by Dr. Peggy Chaudhry, Faculty Program Director, Villanova University, USA visited AUE.
The program was inaugurated by the President of AUE, Prof. Muthanna Abdul Razzaq who welcomed the delegates with his inspiring words along with the Executive Vice President, Prof. Dennis Gayle, Vice-President for Research and Advancement, Prof. Nabeel Jurdi, the Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Ms Haneen Ghani and the Director of International Affairs, Dr Abhilasha Singh. The Director of International Office, Dr. Abhilasha Singh briefed the students about the program.
The program that entailed several industry and cultural visits witnessed prominent speakers like Major Dana Al Humaid, Director of Project Management and Shared Services Department, Ministry of Interior, Mr. Abdullatif Al Mulla, Chief Executive Officer of Smart City and Chief Business Development Officer of Dubai Holdings, Mr. Neetan Chopra, Senior Vice-President, Emirates Airlines who discussed about the growth of aviation sector in Dubai, Mr. Alex Malouf, from Proctor & Gamble who deliberated on Marketing Strategies for Fast Moving Consumer Goods in the MENA Region, Dr. Sohail Zubairi, CEO of Dar Al Sharia talked about the Growth of Islamic Banking and Mr. Majid Al Zarooni, Senior Manager of Arab Tech discussed at length the Growth of the Real Estate Sector in Dubai.
Dr. Peggy Chaudhry the Faculty Program Director, Villanova University expressed her gratitude on behalf of Villanova University for AUE President and the Director of International Office for their support exerted throughout the program and stated that the entire delegation is thankful for a very informative program put together by AUE.
The International Office sincerely thanked the delegation for their visit and willingness to learn and also thanked all the speakers for their valuable deliberations and continued cooperation with AUE.
